Dr. Sam Fuller, M.D., Presents at the University of Chicago Medical Center
Ascendant Orthopedics; Dr. Sam Fuller M.D., Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon and Fellowship-Trained in Upper Extremity Surgery, presented at the University of Chicago Medical Center Section of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, as an instructor, in their 4th Annual Cadaver Dissection Course this past weekend. Dr. Fuller’s lecture entitled, “Managing Acute Injuries: Hand, Wrist and Forearm Trauma”, provided course attendee’s with an in-depth view of how to manage and assess acute injuries.
As a leading surgeon in plastic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Fuller was able to share his knowledge and experience; instructing plastic surgery residents and physician assistants on local flaps in the upper and lower extremities. The course covered flaps, surgical approaches and anatomy covering the entire body.

Dr. Sam Fuller, M.D. Background
Dr. Fuller received his undergraduate at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. He attended Medical School at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. Following Medical School, Dr. Fuller completed his Residency at the University of Chicago, Department of Surgery. Dr. Fuller then went on to complete his Fellowship in Hand, Upper Extremity and Microvascular Surgery at the Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore, MD.
Today, Dr. Fuller practices at Ascendant Orthopedic Alliance as a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, as well as being, Fellowship-Trained in Upper Extremity Surgery. Dr. Fuller is also a Consulting Physician for the University of Notre Dame.
